I love how this book breaks everything down within the week. It starts out with a full description of the woman and everyday you go et a nugget about her. Monday is her story, Tuesday her life and times, Wednesday her legacy, Thursday her promise and Friday her legacy of prayer. It's perfect for me because it allows me to fully focus and digest everything about this person and it keeps it interesting and memorable. I think this book is perfect for a women's Bible study group. I highly recommend it.

A must Buy this really has helped me to go deep with the women of the bible it gives you just enough to keep your mind going with possibility's. This book and the way it is written helps you to put yourself in the women's minds and times it helps you to understand the story better. The way she brakes it down truly helps you to relate to them in a way you probably have not in the past. I am so happy I got this book it was so worth it.. I would recommend the 52 Bible Studies for Individuals and Group book as well..
A study of women from all walks of life in the Bible, this is a great study for someone who has never done one before but a little repetitive for someone who has. I was seeking something more in-depth than I've done before and was a little disappointed at the surface content. This would be great for a new Christian or a young woman. It was a bit lacking for someone who has been a believer for 45 years.
This book is my favorite go to for nighly reading. It’s so inspirational and really has improved my life. It’s very detailed and offers amazing prayers and questions to really keep you interacted. I love this book and I’m so happy I discovered it. It makes reading the Bible better because you understand the dynamics behind every story. It’s needed and should not be excluded.
I learned a lot about women's roles in the bible and how influnencial they were. I learned that there are many strong women in the bible that you don't hear a lot about. This book was very thought provoking. The stories of the women in the bible are stories everyone should know. You can learn a lot by reading them as I did. I would recommend this book to anyone man or women who is religious or spiritual. I think everyone can learn something from this book. I believe everyone should read it.
I have never really had much luck staying interested in other devotional studies, but this one makes me want to dive deep into the scripture. It brings these women to life in full color, and I can fully feel their struggles and joys. I can relate to them. Sometimes I cry for them, or laugh out loud. If my husband is near, he asks me what is so sad or funny. I share the story with him, and in doing so bring a better understanding to him as well. Sometimes it's hard for me not to move on to the next day's "assignment" because I just want more of the very poignant questions that the authors pose. While this is a study of the ladies in scripture, it also gives understanding to their relationships with other people in their lives, and gives me a glimpse to what the other people are feeling in their interactions with these ladies. I would recommend this book to any woman who wishes to understand the people of the bible better.
Okay, so Book Gnome is a guy . . . But I bought this devotional for my wife and was intrigued enough with some of the entries to start using it for our morning devotions. I've been impressed by the author's ability to include the most unlikely and briefly-mentioned women in the Bible, and manage to build a reasonably relevant chapter from each. That was totally unexpected. For those more familiar Bible women, the author often provides a bit of literary (but reasonable) license to make you see them in a new light, and asks questions you never thought of before. With over four decades of Bible stories and a couple years of Bible college under my belt, it's extremely refreshing to get a new perspective on many of these old Bible stories--a reminder that you should always be ready to learn something new from the Bible, even from the most familiar of passages. One of our favorite sections of each chapter is "Her Life and Times," which provides historical perspective of Biblical history and customs that enrich each story background. Of course, the target audience doesn't include manly Book Gnomes, so there are plenty of "How do you think she felt?" style questions, but there's also very solid teaching and real thought-provoking material here. This is a great book (in any format--we have the version too) for any women's group, but might also work for other Gnomes willing to wander with their significant others into touchy-feely territory.
This book so far is changing my life (6weeks in). I know that sounds dramatic but the Lord has radically used each one of these women each week to teach me something, encourage me in some way or experience Him in a way that only the Most High can do. We serve a mighty God who allows sinful people to graciously play a part in his love story. This book has been so good to slow way down and really think about the lives, cultures, circumstances, struggles etc of each of these women and what a sacred role these undeserving women played yet is what makes the Bible believable because this is who we are too. Treacherous selfish women in need of redemption. To God be the Glory!
